You need people talking about your idea

What rechargeable batteries taught me about sharing your startup development

Bluetooth mouse with USB-C rechargeable battery

My impression towards rechargeable batteries stayed at 20 years ago, you need the bulky battery charger, and the more expensive usual but rechargeable battery.

Calculating the cost of getting a battery charger and rechargeable battery for the new Bluetooth mouse that I have gotten, I approached my brother, who is a Bluetooth peripheral enthusiast said:

“Why do you need the battery charger? just get the rechargeable battery that allows you to charge directly”

Having zero idea what he was saying, I stupidly replied:

‘That’s what I’m doing, and I need a battery charger to charge them’

That’s when he showed me the picture of the battery below and said, just buy these and you can charge with any USB-C cable. (It’s amazing by the way)

My impression towards Bluetooth, or actually, any devices that require a battery has changed ever since, and these companies have the new rechargeable battery to thank. (Let’s just say we all have experienced a time when you really wanted to use a device/controller but it’s out of battery realize you have no spare).

Founders, especially those in the not-so-sexy industry, are you talking to enough people or potential customers to make sure they know what developments have been made in your work, thus potentially increasing your distribution?
